Overview of Cyanide Leaching Process

 

In the gold cyanidation process, gold is extracted from ores using a cyanide solution. Oxygen is a vital reactant in this chemical process, as it promotes the oxidation of gold and the formation of soluble gold-cyanide complexes. However, natural air or low-oxygen conditions often limit reaction efficiency.

The Cyanide Leaching Oxygen System provides a continuous, on-site source of high-purity oxygen (typically 90–95%), ensuring that leaching tanks maintain optimal dissolved oxygen levels for maximum gold recovery.

 

How the System Works

 

The system uses Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) or Vacuum PSA (VPSA) technology to extract oxygen from ambient air. Through a molecular sieve adsorption process, nitrogen and other gases are removed, leaving concentrated oxygen that is delivered to the cyanide leaching tanks via a controlled pipeline system.

A PLC-controlled unit monitors oxygen purity, pressure, and flow rate in real-time, ensuring a consistent and efficient oxygen supply that aligns with process requirements.
