Principle of nitrogen production
The main method for manufacturing nitrogen for this product is molecular sieve air separation method. Its basic principle is to use the different diffusion speeds of oxygen and nitrogen in the micropores of molecular sieve adsorbent. When air passes through the molecular sieve, oxygen with a smaller diameter diffuses into the micropores at a faster speed and is preferentially adsorbed by the molecular sieve, leaving nitrogen molecules with a larger diameter for users to use, and then the desorption method is used to discharge the oxygen-rich components in the molecular sieve. Therefore, the molecular sieve air separation method requires the use of two adsorption tanks for continuous production and switching. The production process is shown in Figure 1. The air is first compressed by the air compressor and the pressure is raised to 0.8 MPa. After passing through the dryer purification system, it goes to the instrument air storage tank shared by the whole factory, and then enters two pressure swing adsorption separation systems filled with adsorbents. Clean compressed air enters from the bottom of the adsorption tower. After the air flow diffuses through the air diffuser, it evenly enters the adsorption tower for oxygen and nitrogen adsorption separation, and then nitrogen flows out from the outlet and enters the nitrogen buffer tank. This nitrogen production process takes about 1 minute, after which the adsorbed oxygen and other impurities are discharged through equalization and decompression, completing the regeneration of the adsorbent. The two adsorption towers are operated alternately and cyclically, and the raw air is continuously fed in to produce nitrogen with a purity of ≥99.9%. The output is 500 Nm3/h, and the pressure is between 0.5 MPa and 0.7 MPa, which can be adjusted. Because the compressed air system already exists for instrument air, the nitrogen generator can directly connect the treated air from the instrument air system, saving costs.
