Working Principle

 

VPSA nitrogen generator is a gas separation device that uses carbon molecular sieve as adsorbent and air as raw material to separate oxygen and nitrogen to produce high-purity nitrogen by pressure swing adsorption. Under certain pressure conditions, due to the kinetic effect, the diffusion rates of oxygen and nitrogen in the air on the carbon molecular sieve are different. In a short period of time, a large amount of oxygen molecules are adsorbed by the adsorbent, which can be as high as 90% or more, and nitrogen molecules are enriched in the gas phase, achieving the purpose of oxygen and nitrogen separation.

 

Composition

 

1.Air compressor: The air compressor is the core equipment for providing high-pressure air required for nitrogen production. It compresses the ambient air to the required working pressure and provides sufficient air source for the subsequent adsorption process.

2.Cold dryer and filter: Cold dryer and filter are used to remove moisture and impurities in the air to protect the stable operation of adsorbents and equipment. Cold dryer condenses and removes moisture by lowering the air temperature, while the filter further removes particulate matter and oil mist.

3.Adsorption tower: The adsorption tower is the core component of the VPSA nitrogen generator, which is filled with carbon molecular sieve. The adsorption tower adsorbs at high pressure and desorbs at low pressure, and the gas separation is achieved by reciprocating cycles. Usually, the VPSA N2 generator is equipped with more than two adsorption towers to ensure continuous operation.

4.Pneumatic valve and control system: Pneumatic valve and control system are responsible for controlling the direction and pressure of air flow to realize the automatic operation of adsorption and desorption processes. Advanced control systems can accurately adjust various parameters to ensure efficient and stable operation of the equipment.
