Product Introduction:
Gold Mining PSA Oxygen Generator is a PSA gas separation system that produces oxygen from compressed air for CIP (Carbon in Pulp) and CIL (Carbon in Leach) gold leaching processes.
The system consists of five main units:
Air compressor (0.8–1.0 MPa)
Air pretreatment unit (oil filter, dust filter, dryer)
PSA adsorption tower (zeolite molecular sieve 0.4–0.8 mm)
Oxygen buffer tank (0.1–0.6 MPa)
PLC control system (40–120 s switching cycle)
Oxygen is generated by zeolite selectively adsorbing nitrogen under pressure swing conditions, allowing oxygen to pass through as product gas.

Technical Parameters

Working Principle 

The PSA process operates through a cyclic adsorption–desorption mechanism:

Compressed air enters adsorption tower A at 0.6–0.8 MPa
Zeolite molecular sieve selectively adsorbs nitrogen molecules (N₂ kinetic diameter 3.64 Å)
Oxygen molecules (O₂ diameter 3.46 Å) pass through and are collected at outlet
When saturation is reached, tower A switches to depressurization (0.1 MPa)
Desorbed nitrogen is vented to atmosphere through exhaust muffler
Tower B simultaneously enters adsorption phase to maintain continuous output

Cycle switching is controlled by PLC-driven pneumatic valves, typically with switching frequency of 40–120 seconds depending on oxygen flow demand.

Continuous operation: 24-hour cyclic adsorption system without batch interruption. Oxygen is delivered directly into leaching tanks or oxidation reactors, where it increases dissolved oxygen concentration in cyanide slurry systems.

Application in Gold CIP / CIL Process 

In gold extraction circuits, oxygen is injected into slurry tanks through diffusion pipes or sparging systems.

Typical process interaction:

  • Oxygen enters leaching tank slurry (solid-liquid mixture of ore + cyanide solution)
  • Dissolved oxygen supports oxidation of gold-bearing sulfide minerals
  • Reaction rate of Au complex formation increases in aerated slurry environment
  • Oxygen partial pressure increases dissolved oxygen concentration (DO value typically controlled in mg/L range depending on plant design)

System integration points:

  • Oxygen outlet connects to pipeline manifold system (SS304 or HDPE piping)
  • Flow control valve regulates injection rate per tank volume
  • Optional oxygen analyzer measures DO concentration in real time

Electrical control interface: 380V / 50Hz or customized power input. PLC connected to plant control room via dry contact or Modbus.

No cryogenic storage, vaporizer, or liquid oxygen unloading system is required.

Maintenance & Failure Behavior

Typical maintenance operations:

Zeolite replacement: 2–5 years | Air filter cartridge: 1–3 months | Valve seal inspection: 6–12 months

Observable failure modes:

Moisture ingress → purity drop | Valve delay → unstable flow | Oil carryover → capacity reduction

Detection: Online 0–100% O₂ purity analyzer & differential pressure sensors.
