1. Compressed air supply: The oxygen concentrator draws air from the environment through its built-in compressor and compresses it to a higher pressure level. Compressed air is classified as a mixed gas in this process.
2. Mixed gas treatment: The mixed gas contains other gas components such as nitrogen, carbon dioxide, etc. In order to obtain pure oxygen, the oxygen concentrator needs to separate other gas components from the mixed gas.
3. Separate nitrogen: Oxygen generators use a material called molecular sieve to filter mixed gases. Molecular sieves can selectively adsorb nitrogen, thereby separating nitrogen from mixed gases. This process is called pressure adsorption separation.
4. Removing impurities: After the separation process, impurities and moisture in the mixed gas will be further removed. This is usually achieved through the use of filters and desiccants.
5. Provide pure oxygen: The remaining components in the processed gas are high concentrations of pure oxygen. The oxygen concentrator provides pure oxygen to patients by adjusting the flow and concentration of oxygen.
