PSA industrial oxygen generators 95% to 99%

 

PSA (Pressure Swing Adsorption) industrial oxygen generators are widely used in various industries to produce oxygen with a purity range of 95% to 99%. These generators work by separating oxygen from air through a cyclic process involving adsorption and desorption of gases on a molecular sieve material.

 

The PSA process typically involves the following steps:

Compression: Ambient air is compressed to an elevated pressure.

Adsorption: The compressed air is passed through one or more vessels containing a molecular sieve material, such as zeolites or carbon molecular sieves. These materials selectively adsorb nitrogen, leaving behind a concentrated stream of oxygen.

Desorption: Once the adsorbent bed becomes saturated with nitrogen, the pressure is reduced, allowing the adsorbed nitrogen to desorb from the molecular sieve.

Purging: A small portion of the oxygen product is used to purge the desorbed nitrogen from the bed, preparing it for the next adsorption cycle.

The adsorption and desorption cycles are carried out in a cyclical manner, with multiple vessels operating in a staggered sequence to ensure a continuous supply of oxygen.
